I was a last-minute addition to “Summer Fun Day” at Christian Health Care Center at Heritage Manor in Wyckoff, NJ. It was a beautiful Friday afternoon of fellowship, music, and treats for the Heritage Manor, Bolger Short-term Rehab, and Southgate residents, patients, and their families.
While I had expected to provide background music for this social gathering for residents to chat and enjoy the Kona Ice Shave Ice truck, I pretty much had everyone’s undivided attention for 90 minutes. After being under lockdown for many months, the turnout was better than expected. Everyone was excited to get together for this in-person event.
What fun it was to share songs and stories — and even fulfill a request for “Tiny Bubbles.” It was my first time playing legendary crooner Don Ho’s signature tune and the look on the resident’s face who requested it was priceless.
Thank you to Christian Health Care Center at Heritage Manor and United Health for having me.
