Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawai‘i
May 19–October 28, 2018
The Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawai‘i exhibit focused on artist Georgia O’Keefe’s little-known depictions of the Hawaiian Islands—and the plants and landscapes that inspired them. The New York Botanical Garden created a rich and diverse program of performances, events, and activities for all ages to celebrate the time-honored traditions and unique cultural heritage of the Hawaiian Islands.
It was a huge project that brought me to NYBG multiple times for a variety of events. Our little community felt like artists in residence over the 6 months. There were galas, performances, demonstrations, and even our annual Hawaii picnic. It was cool to meet Sigourney Weaver, a trustee at New York Botanical Garden.
